I have a bone stock 62 Fury with push button auto and original 318.

Are there headers that fit?
Any advantage to adding dual exhaust but keeping stock cast iron exhaust manifolds?

Car is a Tucson original.

thanks,

Sure,, but expensive.Tube Technologies Incorporated . It is well worth the money. I had a local exhaust shop do duals off the cast manifolds for about $600.Then I installed TTI poly headers and their complete exhaust.Cost was about $1200 10 years ago. This was on my 64 Belvedere.

TTIs are the best quality you can buy, probably don't need headers on a bone stock 318 unless you're planning on mods in the future. You could get dual exhaust on a 318 in 62. I had that dual exhaust setup with glasspacks years ago on my 63 Fury. It has to help some with better breathing, but it sure sounded a LOT healthier. A small four barrel carb and manifold might be money better spent than headers right now.

Oh, by the way, welcome. Pictures (especially of early Bs) are mandatory!

Welcome Desertfury!

If you had a big block I could be of some help. I'm going through the same thing with my '62 Dodge with a 440.

You need to post some pictures

Many thanks for all the replies and photos.
Here are photos from October when I got the car. Tucson original bought new from a mechanic that worked at Beaudry's dealership from 1940-1973.
He retired and gave the car to his daughter.
Original TF tranny and factory air.
Was painted in1987 along with interior seat covers.
Needs resto, but is fine daily driver.

I have a local muffler shop that can install a dual H pipe exhaust for about $400. They suggested 2 1/2" pipes. Is that too big for a two barrel carb?
thanks,

Nope, 2 1/2 '' is good.Hell if I were closer I would bring down my Valiant for duals for that price !! Thanks for the photos. I love the looks of the 62 Plymouth B bodies.

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal

Welcome! TTI is about all I can recommend for poly headers and on a stock 2bbl motor you are only going to hurt performance without other mods. Send Gary Pavlovich an email, he is all that is poly. I bought a set of used TTIs from him for $500 when he rebuilt my motor. [email protected] tell him Mark Adams sent you his way.

Duals would be fine, there is a company that makes complete stock kits for decent money. But if you plan on modifying it, wait and get the 2 1/2" when you get the headers :)

Are these 318 headers? Distance from #1 bolt center to #7 bolt center is 15".
