Heater hose fittings

Is there a specific place to put the fittings on the water housing? If looking at the motor, on the left side, I think there are 3 plugs (?) but you use only 2 for the fittings for the heater hoses. I'm unable to verify if 3 or 2 places at the moment. Just wanted to know so that I can put them in the right place.

Yea, it does. '73bird I know but I think now that there are 4 "plugs" to put either temp gauge and 2 for heater hose fittings. See attached photo courtesy of 440 source

I think the single, little one on the left of the picture I posted is for the temp gauge. Then again, I'd have to see how the wire harness length is if I use that one or the second from right (?)
