I have tried getting a good understanding of what little information is contained on the fender tag for my 69 GTX, but I have struggled along. The VIN number is easy to get that basic information, but that is pretty much as far as I have been able to get. Would appreciate some insight or point me to a website that can help me decode. I have tried a couple of decode sites with no luck. Thanks.

Ski, I think he wants more than just the Vin decoded
What I have is from memory, my book is 250 miles away.
69 GTX hardtop, hemi automatic, built October 14, 68, at lynch road.
Black everything, bucket seat interior, roof, body, and upper interior door panel.
The 68 on next line up, I don't know, N96 is fresh air if I remember right. C16, I don't know.
26 is a 26"radiator.
922,594, 094, are , in order, engine assy code, rear-end and brakes code, and trans assy code. Again, I don't have my book, or i could narrow them down.
Top line is gate assy codes(meaningless to us) an order code, and the vin.
I'm absolutely sure there, are guys here that can help with the 68 and c16 codes.
If I am wrong about any of this guys, PLEASE correct me!

68= (V)68 = Stripe delete
The top line is the two digit Gate three digit Base and six digit sequence number. They are related to the assembly of the Body in White.

Some of the best money I ever spent for my 69 roadrunner was for Wes Eisenshanks (spelling?)book on 69 roadrunner. The last 15 pages or so are pure gold . I know yours is a GTX, but I'm sure the options and codes are the same.
His book is how I could decode your tag somewhat successfully.
Google 1969 roadrunner book, it will come up.
(I believe Wes is a member here, but I don't recall his screen name).

Yeah, good book. I think he sold out fairly quick, but I may be wrong about that.

Yep, that's the one. I think you can still get it off the internet/Amazon. I found mine in a Barnes&Noble so I could check it out before purchase. Took me about 30 seconds to put $25 on the counter.
EASILY worth that to decode my A12 broadcast sheet!

Thanks for all the feedback. I think you guys got most all of the codes on the tag. I assume the stripe delete (68) means not having the performance flat black hood stripes seen on many of these cars. It is a console car. Car definitely has an 8 3/4 rear, not the Dana 60. Anyone have any thoughts on the most likely gear ratio to be found in this thing? I have seen a couple of likely options on the interwebs - a 3.23 and a 2.94 (or something like that).

The stripe delete refers to the standard GTX stripe running above the blackout on the side of the car.
Code 594 on the tag tells us the car got the 8.75 axle with 3:55 gears and SG AKA the A36 axle package. This is also why the car got a 26" radiator.
