I need to get a Cross Ram Intake, 2 Holley Carbs, Hemi stock exhaust manifolds, Hemi Valve Covers and various support parts up to FHO / Tim Banning in Ontario for my Hemi build and really have no clue on the best way to go about it. Would anybody with some knowledge of getting the parts across the border give me some information. Should I drive them up to Ontario (16 hrs.) from Minnesota or is shipping the better way - and if so who and how do you recommend for shipping?

I would ask FHO what carrier they are most likely to use when they ship from Canada to the US as they ship worldwide . Or just ask them to locate the parts unless you have them .
Ask if you can use their account , broker and other services for cost or a small fee .

16 hours one way, or 16 hours return? If it's return just deliver them. Just be sure to give the border guys full disclosure. They are actually great to deal with. I buy LOTS of stuff at Gov't auctions from guys who tried to be sneaky.

Sounds like a great weekend trip! Take the better half for a little site-seeing.

I have the parts and wasn't sure how hard it would be to cross the border....not trying to hide anything or avoid any fees or whatever. Driving up there is no problem just want to be aware of any pitfalls or delays crossing. Thanks for all the advice and information it is greatly appreciated.

Just call Tim and ask him what to do. In a nutshell ... you can pack up the parts (too heavy for mail so you're screwed for cheap rates) take them to UPS and they'll tell you what paperwork needs to be filled out. Don't worry about "duty" because there isn't any AND you're going to be getting them back (I would personally tick the "repair" box). But whoever you use is going to charge you brokerage fees but they should only be around $35..

You can ship as easy as shipping to your next door neighbour. It will cost a a bit but nowhere near what that hemi is costing you ; )

Brokerage fees are the costs to cross the border. UPS overcharged but there's not much you can do about it.

I order all my parts from the US so I'm used to it. Lol.

Pick up has it's advantages, I guess. I just received rear quarter panels for my 67 Coronet. They went from Anaheim, California; to Los Angeles, California; to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; to Minneapolis, Minnesota; to Fargo, North Dakota; to Pembina, North Dakota; to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; to Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada. I guess the shipping was reasonable after all. Oh, and paid a ton of duty. Hope you get your hemi parts.

Those 1/4's have some miles on them:lol:

Short report on my quarters. First the are not full quarters. They are for wheel well back to bumper and about half way up. I bought these from Classic Industries.
They are made in the US, reasonably priced (about $110) and most things at Classic are on sale most of the time. I am NOT a body man but they look decent to me. I think they are a step ahead of making the panels from scratch. Right side is MM8216. Left side is MM8215. Fits '67 Coronet R/T but prob fit any '67 Coronet.
