Anyone ever deal with the the guy on eBay with the handle 'sc604'?? He sells Hemi Scoops for $195 + shipping.
    Here's his example:

    image.jpeg

I already have a second steel hood that I've been saving for my '65 Coronet to use with another Hemi scoop AND cut the hole for extended long length 8-stacks sticking thru BOTH the hood & scoop like some A/FX examples out there. I like that look, and I do NOT want to cut my existing scoop on the car now that I use with my 'short' stacks.
Although I'm gonna be cutting a 'BIG HOLE' in the scoop I still am concerned with having a quality scoop that has a good mounting system & NOT just a thin piece of crap fiberglass.
This guy's scoops look nice, but PICS can be deceiving, but I hate to spend $400+ on something I'm gonna just cut up!
OK, I know, just spend the $$$ and get it done.....which is what I may just do in the end, but I'd appreciate some feedback. Please be nice!...lol.
I can't decide between a 3" opening, or 5" larger a/fx opening either, but I want to get this thing done so the car can have the 8-stack look, too.

Yes your car is NOT cheap. Get a good one from Larry at Sled City. My 2 cents is if you are gonna cut the hood and scoop, go with the short one. Look up member fwi He had a 65 with the short scoop and stacks sticking thru it. Maybe he will post some photos for you.
On a side note I bought both scoops and everyone talked me into using the short one. Your Car, Your Call.

No first hand knowledge but asked a member where he got his scoop, that guy. Said he liked the quality.

I'm not positive, but we got one off Ebay and it seems like I remember that picture in the listing, we put it on a '64 and we're very pleased with it. I'll check tomorrow to see who the seller was.
        EDIT
Just checked, that's who we got it from, for the $$, a nice piece, ours had a few chips that the painter easily fixed before he shot it.

Buuuuut, we went with the "no scoop" look when the stacks went on the A/FX'r !

Wow, more questions.......how did you do your door window frames?? I'd like to do more like the original A/FXers that used sedan doors.

I do have a complete a/fx grille.......debating on using it too, after some polishing.
                Later!

I bought one of his scoops and I'm very happy with it. I purchased the lower version as you can see.

                  img_6115a.jpg

It has several tabs bonded around the perimeter which have studs so it bolts to the hood... not bonded. For the price I found it to be pretty good quality.

                  img_6113a.jpg

Fit was good right out of the box but I spent an hour or so massaging the edges so it fit perfectly. It also has the correct curve for a '64-'65 hood. The underside was raw fiberglass, however I took a little time to smooth the area since I'm going to add a graphic to that section.

                  IMG_6219a.jpg

Here's a shot of the scoop after primer. Over all, for the price its a pretty good value.

The car is in storage so I can't easily look at it, but after reading this, I do now remember our's having studs, not nuts.
but again, well worth the money.

On the taller scoops, you need a really good mounting system like I have on my Sled City Scoops. Little angle brackets are ok if you are keeping your car on the neighborhood streets, but if it is a performance car, check out my hemi scoops on ebay. I am oldwoody426 on ebay. I am the only one out there that has a warranty against cracking or blow offs.

Centerline, do you have pics of the scoop finished and installed on your car? I am getting ready to put one on my '64.

Since you may be cutting it up anyway for the stacks. Call whoever you choose to buy one from and ask them if they have any blems at a discounted cost since you are cutting it up anyway.

I would go with the no scoop look with the long stacks.
