Has anyone installed the Sniper EFI system on a vintage Mopar? Specifically wondering about how the fuel return was handled and if the pump was mounted in tank like Holley suggests or frame rail mounted. Of course overall if it was a big improvement or not.

Used tanks inc hat the gpa-6 and their tank in a 69 charger. Return and feed lines for both push loc aeroquip -6 used a fuel lab filter.

I'm running the Sniper system for the last couple of months. Used the tanks-inc kit with in tank pump and ran summit braided PTFE -6AN lines for feed and return.

For those that have installed a Sniper...how do you like it? Easy to install, get set up...no hidden quirks to work out? I am trying to get a feel for how the REAL world feels about them verses the FiTech. I plan on an in-tank pump and will be running the return lines but haven't selected the EFI system yet. Any light you can shed would be appreciated. Thank you

Unfortunately tanksinc and other companies that I found don't make a efi ready gas tank for a 66 coronet. Does anyone know of a custom tank builder that could handle a job like that?

They’re pretty similar, the only downside I’ve heard about the sniper unit is it doesn’t like dual plane intakes. Engine masters had problems getting it to perform with a dual plane.

I haven't had any problems with my Performer RPM dual plane. It does make a bit of a sucking/whistling noise when you get on it sometimes, which supposedly can be fixed with a spacer. I don't have the hood clearance for that though and it doesn't really bother me anyway. Overall I'm really happy with it so far. It's definitely improved my mileage and feels like it has more power and better throttle response than I got with the Holley 750 carb.

Possible they just had a one off experience with it, but I seen it on one of their episodes. I got a fitech 1200 for mine I can’t wait to get it running.

None of the tb units really like a dual plane cause of the dividing wall. Mill it out and your golden. Single planes are super great with tb efi!

So I got the obsolete dual plane mopar 426 hemi crate intake. To follow up on your suggestion I want to make sure I tell the machinist the correct instructions. I'm to have him mill out the center plenum down to the drop off?

The divider doesn’t let the fuel/air mix right due to the (I forget what the thingy is called). Now if the divider wall has a cut out in it, then you won’t have any problems. My dual plane Eddy for my 383 had that wall that was cut down, no problems, but I switched to the TM6 for my 470 stroker and that intake rocks! Look up the intakes and you’ll see most have the wall some will be milled, those are the ones to use, or get s single plane.

We have used the snipers with great success. My best recommendation from personally selling tons and tons of fitechs and snipers in my pace days before BPE, is to make sure that your ignition components are compatible. I just had my billionth customer call me the other day after trying to make a non-compatible distributor work, and realizing one of our pro-billets was the answer.

Let me know if i can help with the sniper, or any of the supporting equipment!! I sell distributors, coils, etc to make it all work.

Not many single four barrel options out there for the hemi.
