How tell the difference between a real RR and clone? Is it in the VIN, fender tag? I will post the vin, dont have fender tag, and some pics of the important stuff.

Vin, fender tag, body stamp #s.
And still could be a rebody.
RR vs satellite differences.. where's the pros

RR or not, it ain't original so what difference does it make !!

Like it or not, being an original "pedigree" car DOES matter, at least to the serious collectors
paying the large money for these cars.
My opinion is that it should matter as well...

Now, let's see the body stampings and the fender tag and all that.

More importantly, let's see the weld marks AROUND the body stamps...?

The H makes it a Roadrunner.... as Satellites weren't available with a 383HP...

I believe the “H” code 383 was available in the Satellite. It was the top option. It was rated at 330HP as opposed to 335HP in the road runner. But then again... in Plymouth advertising in ‘68, they claimed the road runner had “440” heads. My 383 2bbl. has them as well.:D

To answer the question at hand the vin on the dash is from a 1969 roadrunner convertible with a 383 built at the St Louis plant. now to say it was born on that car would be impossible to verify with the pics included

As these guys mention, RM27 is a roadrunner convertible. If the last part of the VIN number is stamped on the radiator core support, passenger side AND the forward/driver lip inside the trunk under the trunk seal match the VIN tag.....AND nothing looks like the numbers were welded in, re-stamped, etc... then it's a real Roadrunner convertible.

Uhhhh..... a supercharged hemi street car (no roll bar) is going to need about a dozen of those tiny fuel cells....it will pass everything except the gas station

Also, that drive shaft safety loop looks like a really good idea. I'd recommend puting some frame connectors in there or it will twist like a pretzel. You might want to take a really close look at the top of the passenger quarter panel for that reason

I found more info on the car. It is a 383 Satellite convertible, not a true RR. But as stated, it is so far from stock that it really does not matter at this point. Buying something like this could be asking for trouble, what do you think? I cant see torque boxes in the pics, or frame connectors. Did all big block convertibles get torque boxes? So now the question arises, we know what it is but what is a fair price? It is not a fresh build. Whoever would build a car like this plans to beat the snot out of it, right? So maybe I should plan on freshening up a few things?

"1969 Road Runner convertible HEMI "Tribute Car" features Indy "Crate Legend" 528 CID HEMI which runs on 92 octane pump gas, Dyno by Indy @ 716.8 CHP @ 6400 RPM/660.6 C16-ft @ 5200 RPM. This rare Mopar has X9 Black Velvet via PPG base coat/clear coat over laser straight body. TriMec 5-speed transmission, 4:10 ratio DANA 60 w/power lock. New Legendary interior (white, white convertible top), chrome/aluminum alloy TQ 18" rear & 17" front wheels, Air Grabber hood, 4-wheel disc brakes, Firm Feel K member, power steering & stabilizer bars, PST poly kit, MP power brake system w/vacuum pump, "Be Cool" cooling system, Rare Mopar Tribute Car restored with top quality workmanship and top quality components. The odometer show 59k miles but that may not be accurate. This car was born as a 69 Satellite convertible with a 383 cu in motor."

I think I see frame connectors, and at least rear torque boxes, circled in the below pics.

Incorrect. It matters a LOT, especially in putting a price on the car - and it will somewhat limit who is interested
in buying it, too.

The H in the VIN only tells us the car got a 383-4bbl it does not tell us which version and associated HP rating the car received.

All 69 B bodies with 383-4 and manual transmission without a/c got the 925 assembly, rated at 335 horse and painted orange regardless of nameplate meaning the assembly came in Belvederes, Coronets, Chargers, Satellites, Road Runners, Super Bees, etc.

So a Satellite with automatic got the 330 horse. If it had a manual, it got the 335.

This can be documented with broadcast sheets and Lynch Road fender tags.
