I’ve had issues (collapsed) with the Comp hydraulic lifters in my 340 and want to replace them. Does anyone have experience with Howards or Lunati hydraulic flat lifters or another recommendation??

Get them from someone that will verify theirs are made by Hylift Johnson. (USA)
I'd start with Jones Cams/Denver NC.

Try and buy directly from a North American manufacturer.....(if any left)
as opposed to offshore junk showing up in everybody's "Boxes".

      Just say'in...
don't be fooled by the "Box" containing the Lifters from anybody.... your experience with Comp Cams "Lifters"... ahem... NOT !

Thanks everyone. They’re 10.00 each but there are some available.

              Just gotta say...
My own experience with CompCams is stellar. Hydraulic roller cam and lifters when we had a performance rebuild done to the Pontiac 421 Tripower, and my CompCams springs and Hydraulic Flat Tappet lifters ALL have performed flawlessly, under hard running conditions!

I have heard more complaints about Comp cams lifters than any other brand.

And I've read quite a few. I picked the ones for my Roadrunner, to replace whatever (stock?) lifters were in it. One collapsed and pumped back up, but when it or another collapsed, it didn't. Changed pushrods, lifters, springs, locks (10°) and retainers. Worked with Mancini and CompCams on the selection. They have allowed me to experience the full power of my 440 6bbl as it is.
The CompCams roller setup in the 421 Pontiac was recommended by the local builder who did it, who I've known a long time, and he's built thousands of high performance engines.
Now, for my Bill Mitchell 541, I want solid flat tappet lifters, and that builder is a Mopar guy, so I'll see what he recommends.

I'm not saying they are good or bad, but if you sell 10x more than the next largest supplier, you'll probably hear about 10x more failures.

My confidence level isn’t very high for any of the currently available “non-specialty” hydraulic lifters...... but when I have to use them, I go to the effort to get the Hylift Johnson’s.

From what I can gather, they are the last of the American made “normal” FT lifters for a Mopar.

One other thing, that I would have thought was common knowledge by now, is that none of the cam companies make their own flat tappets. They all buy them from lifter manufacturers....... and there is only a few of them making normal lifters for Mopars.

And, IMO, it's silly to think being made in this country matters. Nobody's making money on mopar lifters. The quality is gone never to return.

Good call--they're worth the extra few bucks.
If I may ask, where did you end up buying them?
