Okay, so my car is reaching the end of phase 1. I need to stop and save before tackling phase 2, which the permanent final paint job is a part of.

So far now the exterior is going to be hot rod black instead of just plain grey primer.

That being said, for fun, since the car will be murdered out as they say, I'd like to add a Mopar Six Pack style hood scoop and since it will be removed when the car is "really" painted, I don't want to cut a giant hole in the hood.

So question: Has anyone run a closed-ended scoop that large without it blowing off ???

The one from Classic states it comes with strong 3M adhesive tape.

And no, I don't mind cutting out the back of the scoop to vent if that helps since it won't be on there in the end.

    Thanks - Steve

I might be missing something, but what's the point? Just for looks?

Yes... absolutely... just for fun... And to look cooler for video work. It'll come off when the car gets it's real paint job.

Got it, I will let those more familiar with modern day adhesives, but I would think a quality double stick tape and some relief holes in the back should do the trick up to a certain MPH?

A power bulge type scoop would look cool too - How about the rubber duck from Death Proof ? Just kidding on that one
