Dang, and you weren’t even going that fast.I broke three ribs and one punctured
my Kidney. I had a 12 Hour Surgery in which I died three
times in the operating room.
AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!I was on the covers of both Hot Rod and Car Craft
the very next month. Also, the full back page of Hot
Rod and the center two pages of Car Craft.
The truck was the current N/SA National Record Holder
at that time. I let my friend set the record the week before
as he had always wanted one and his son had just died on his
motorcycle. It was the first and nearly the last pass that I
ever made in the truck. I broke three ribs and one punctured
my Kidney. I had a 12 Hour Surgery in which I died three
times in the operating room.
I was back racing the next month at the Divisional against Doctor's
orders but not in the truck.
I had to pull the Frame to straighten it and go to Pic a Part and cut a cab in two
and replace 1/2 the cab on the drivers side of the truck.
God has been so Very Good to Me!
Praise his Holy Name.
No truer words to say.God has been so Very Good to Me!
Praise his Holy Name.

Looks like a wild ride.... glad John is OK after that launch.

Close: Sheered all the lug nuts on left axle.I blame the lug nuts.
GTX John is a wonderful man, and deserves all of God's blessings. I bought my 62 Savoy from John, many many years ago, when he still lived in california.
Recently, he heard I was having trouble with my trailer, it had suffered a broken axle, and John GIFTED me a pair of takeoff axles to get me rolling again
Anybody looking for a trailer should see John first!
THANK YOU BIG JOHN!!! GOD BLESS!
Famous… and definitely, NOT in a good way either. Damn I’m sorry see that happen John, but I’m glad your ok. Hope the truck is easily repairable
