But $70 for a old used/dried-out piece, are they that hard to find?

Actually you can find NOS Mopars on that price too, ( with some insane exceptions selling in $300 LOL some other in $150-180 rate ), but if you have a JY and find a 116 Mercedes and I think some other models too, maybe you still can grab this from it.

depends, I think there is two kinds, the ones to C bodies to auto temp system, and the others without auto temp

Yeah, while sitting in the personal library the other day, I saw that Classic Industries has them new for about $65.
