Not sure of the technical name for this but I need a little help on how to remove it from the firewall. This is as far as I got. Not sure how to remove the copper wire. And does anyone make a new one ??
That's a heater water temperature control. The "copper wire" is a capillary tube inserted in the heater core to sense the core temperature which the control uses to regulate the heat output. You should be able to pull the tube out. As for replacement??
Mike
Just an FYI you cannot disconnect the capillary tube if you ever want the valve to function again! The tube is connected in the A/C box in the bottom, two 1/4" screws and it is out and you can remove the valve from the fire wall.
