Morning Everyone, I recently just purchased a 1968 Dodge charger. I'm a car lover and always wanted a b body charger. I'm new to the Mopar world and have a lot to learn. The car is in really good shape for the year. It seems to be all original except the Paint job. the car has been in a garage for the last 26 years. It's missing the fender tag, luckily I found the build sheet, it's not too legible but it helps. Is there a company out there that re-pops fender tags? I got it running and it was backfiring through the carb, I discovered a bent push rod that has a tapper on one end. I have never seen a push rod that looks like this before. Are they still available? I look forward to learning about Mopar's.

Thank you!

Glad your here, post a pic of your car please and a pic of the rod so we can help.

Welcome from NY.
I have some tapered pushrods for a 383.
PM me if you would like one or two.

Greetings from northern Michigan.

Your writeup sounds nearly identical to where I'm currently at although I've had mine since 1985 and due to bad circumstances sat from '94 until this year. Good luck on getting it roadworthy without needing a lot of repairs. And pics please...

As for the pushrod question looky here

Welcome from the lovely vacation city of Lynn, Ma!

Welcome aboard glad to see you found a 68 charger. Yes, post pics of the car. What motor and drive train also. :welcome:

This car was in a garage fire down the street from my house. I was driving home and saw it on the lawn. It was meant to be. The last four pics were when it came out of the burnt garage. As you can see very little damage. It decodes white with a green top and green interior 383 magnum. Everything looks to be original. I tore out the rug because it was soaked after the fire. Needs floor patches and trunk patches not too bad. Haven’t cleaned the interior from the soot other than the back seat. The front seats need to be recovered.

Thanks for all the replies! Don't hate me, I have a few first gen Camaro's, but never could find an affordable 2 gen Charger. I got really lucky on this one!
