There's a leaded over seam were that quarter ends at the roof. Clean off the paint a little further down, you should see it. Melt out the lead, drill out the spot welds and grind out the couple little stitch welds. They're all under the lead. Use a propane or Map Gas hand torch to melt out the lead, and don't grind or sand on that lead without some serious respiratory protection. End lip of the quarter tucks under the roof skin. Probably will need to be trimmed just a bit. Little bit of lead towards bottom of drip rail as well.

Generally it will look like this under that lead:

Great info prop n pic detail. When i remove the rest off quarter will this allow the new skin to drop into place around the rear quarter window.

Hey no problem Steven. You need to remove the upper rear interior panels. There is a support bracket you'll see, that the quarter will rest on. Believe it's a bit of an alignment type feature.

This will be visable when i remove the rest of quarter or do i access it from inside i am lost at what you are explaining

I put full quarters on my 69 Charger and it was a bit of a pain getting the quarter tucked under the roof. If I remember right I had to drill out the spot welds on the bottom of the drip rail and open it up a bit to get it to tuck in there. You have to start by tucking the quarter under the roof and then work it into place which is the pain. I spoke to the man at AMD about it and he said they were never designed to be put on while the roof skin was on which is true seeing how it's made like the originals which were put on first. Point being, be prepared to do a little tweaking and wrestling.

I think the bracket he is referring to is the one in the back corner of the window (it bend up around the end spot welding to the quarter and roof rail). Not sure about the interior panels?????? I'm sure he'll explain but the biggest issue I had was getting the lip (where the quarter window felt goes) over the top of the door jam, I actually had to cut the one side, bend the lip up and then weld it back up after it was all done. For some reason I only had to do it on the pass side, it may be different for you because I was installing mine with the wheel wells still intact.

Im just test fitting this for now n figured if i left it out it would allow a bit more play. Thanks for info n tips i figured i would be wrestling this a bit anyway. All apart off he fun

IM STILL LOOKING FOR A GOOD USED RIGHT REAR FRAME RAIL ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT. IF NOT ILL PROBALLY HAVE TO BITE THE BULLET N BUY A NEW ONE FROM AMD

Well put 747.

I was speaking of the panels below. Removing them you should get a clear view of the brackets I was speaking of.

Those panels are long removed as the whole interior n car is gutted. I went n did a quick check n can see what you were talking about with quarter resting on bracket for alignment. Your info is greatly appteciated
