**STACHYBOTRYS** AKA Black Mold....WARNING!!!!!!!
STACH is an extremely toxic mold peculiar to man made materials/environs combined with moisture. It THRIVES on fiberglass insulation & similar low nitrogen high cellulose mediums. So carpet & jute fit this arena as well. I've had it in car interiors, RVs & houses & have been sick from it multiple times in the past. Animals are VERY sensitive to it.
Alive it is a sticky, slimy mass, but does not readily release spores, though it grows & spreads like a motherfucker. The DOUBLE JEOPARDY of killing it is that is when the spores become 100% airborne, & the dead spores are ABSOLUTELY TOXIGENIC/POISONOUS!!!!!!! THE ONLY SOLUTION is to DISPOSE of the medium it's growing on in a HAZ/MAT manner.
Buy a Mold test kit/s & set up the petri dish in suspect areas & bring to culture, then seal & send in to specified lab to determine what strain/s of mold You are dealing with BEFORE arbitrarily killing it.
STACHYBOTRYS causes physical illness, fucks with immune systems AND mental faculties. It can cause DEATH.

I've been told you need an "ozone generator" to get that smell out. I need to do same in my bird from unpleasant guests (man that doesn't sound right... ). Going to see if any local rentals have one for rent.
