Got a chance to score a 69 coronet 500 but it has a good amount of work to do... just curious if you all think its worth the price, if not what would you offer and how much work am i looking at as far as the roof is concerned??? He was asking 4200 but said he’d take 3200... thanks in advance

Well I am sure someone will disagree but looking at those pics thats a $1500 at best unless it is something special. Remember, thats only what you can see, there is a lot you are not seeing and the inner structure has to come from a donor car.

I think the owner should pay You, to take it away. A "money-pit" for sure...

I’m restoring a 69 super bee. Mine had all of the same rust. My roof wasn’t as bad up around the top of the drip rails but all around the rear window and the deck filler panel were pretty much the same. Mine was a complete untouched original numbers matching super B and I paid $8100 for it. I would say if that’s A coronet 500 and nothing rare or special about it definitely don’t pay more than $2-2500. I’ll tell you right now I replaced both quarter panels, my tail panel, complete trunk floor and drop downs on both sides, deck filler panel and all of the smaller pieces that go in the lower corners of the window. I also had to do a bunch of repair just under the roof down around the lower part of the window. I also replaced wheel tubs completely on both sides. All of those panels together were around $3000. If you cannot do all the work yourself I would say pass. If you can and you don’t mind doing the work, and I mean a ton of work, then pick it up as a giant project. I’d make sure all the frame rails and torsion boxes are solid. I would also check the doors down around the bottom by the rockers and the front fenders. If everything is as rusted as the pictures you have shown I would definitely pass or see if the guy will just give it to you.

Of course after 2 years of pretty Consistent work this is where i am.

forget it, nothing but a bucket of rust, underneath it will be terrible ...

Spend your time and money wisely. Look for a nice example and pay a lot more but, you will be much happier.

I'f it's an oddly optioned 383 4 speed car with PW and AC, maybe.....

...and that's why I H A T E vinyl tops!

Rust and in that amount is not worth it, floor pans and window corners are expected, but that car is far gone, sorry but check for something else IMO.

You'll spend over 10 grand in just replacement sheet metal. That car is nothing short of giving up it's giblets for another... pass on it

RUN Forrest, RUN! Let that iron finish decomposing into the ground! Please!

Do you have any before/after pics of the rear window corner repairs? I can't figure out how the inner and outer corner pieces go.
