just a little off the back and sides please

For a past project done by @eldubb440 ...
We got the car out and drove it around a bit - cool! (I have videos, but no YouTube account, so you'll have to make car noises on your own! :p )

Anyway, we also took some photos of the car so it can be formally registered. It looks great out in the sun!

We also temporarily stuck an unrestored grill and wrong tail panel on the car just so it looks complete for the Pennsylvania required registration pictures. They came right back off after the pictures...

that belly is actually darker is real life.......the truth is somewhere in the middle I suppose.

it's nearly a perfect match to the color of the "dip" I find on all these cars

the underside of this car was like a stubborn clog in my toilet........but things are flowing now

got the trunk and hood compartment in finish paint......

I sealed up the entire underside and back of fenders in clear with flattener added (still kinda wet in the pics).

It'll wipe clean with a rag and not disrupt the overspray patterns

we can come off the rotisserie any time.......... I'll drop this for a week or so and play with the Pumpkin

Wish my 70 Challenger project was that far along. Believe it or not I bought it as a parts car for the 70 Barracuda under the cover behind it. But then ended up driving it from 1995-2004. After swapping the 318/904/7 1/4 to a built 340/727/8 3/4 391 gear. Car has been sitting since 2004, but still looks the same as when I was driving it.

I had half assed put the fenders on the car to create the overspray pattern on the back sides....... should look pretty cool when everything is together

I so dig those 80s era wheels, alot...... not sure about on a B body, that's pretty aggressive :steering:

Mark,
Other than the trunk floor and lower rear quarters, and one spot on the roof. above the passenger window. It is super solid. Other wise it would be in a container heading to Jersey.

For @eldubb440 past projects file:

Doing some driving and tuning. The car is getting close to hitting the road. Here is the first time getting gas!
20260415_131131.jpg

There is still a punch list of things to do. For example, the exhaust is only temporarily hung to drive it around. The car will get the correct angled tips when the exhaust is finalized. The trunk panel still needs to be completed, as does the grill. There are also numerous small details here and there to do. The goal for now is to get the car truly drivable to an Ocean City, MD car show next week.
Later, the A/C and "air grabber" systems will need to be completed as well.

The important part is how does the engine run Hawk????
Engine seems to run very well. However, with the Sniper 2 out of the box tuning, the timing map sucked. The engine basically had one hand and one leg tied behind its back. I dove into the software maps and entered a bit more sophisticated map into the Sniper and uploaded it. The car ran dramatically better after that. On harder acceleration it was just about ripping the tires loose in second gear when accelerating hard (not from popping the clutch, but just from accelerating).
Having said all that, I'm sure my timing map sucked - this is the first time I have ever done this. We are working with @Nxcoupe and he has built a decent starting point for an overall EFI tune, which does way more than just timing. This weekend Barry's daughter is having a baby shower, so we may not be able to try it until Sunday or Monday. So far the way the car runs and drives everything is extremely promising.

More to come!!!

baby showers are women only........ there is no better time to work on a car than during a baby shower...... there will be zero distractions, they do not want you anywhere near their female-fest :poke:

Absolutely it's all women. But someone has to haul all the stuff there and back. For ME, I've got tons of time - but guess who's hauling all the stuff???

there are no victims, only volunteers........ although I'm sure you were "volunteered"
