I am a Chevy guy that just bought my first Mopar. It is a 68 Coronet 440 project car.
It is complete but everything needs work. The original 318 and auto trans is all there but,was already pulled out when I got the car. I am not going for an original restoration or a race car but,I am not sure the 318 can live up to my expatiation. I want a nice driver when I get finished with it. I am still doing a lot of research on my motor options with what I have or to put big block in it. It would be cool to have the original engine in it though.

Welcome to the site, ah don't go big block you can get plenty out of a small block and be lighter and better fuel and cheaper to maintain. I love small block cars I have a big block 440 4 speed charger and a small block 340 4 speed I would and do pick the small block car every time it moves better and isn't behind to much on power it's more fun .
But it's your car your coming from a Chevy so just about anything will be faster ! Get your self a semi hemi! 318 poly I think stock h.p. is around 330 HP someone correct me on the actual number

Welcome to den, fromCanada! With a small block you could come in about 3700lbs, not a lot different than a chevelle, they always worked well with a small block. just piick the cubic dollars you want to spend,273 to 440 all in small block form.
