I'm in Las Vegas for the week with my wife and kids. Wife has a work conference for 3 days. For all you locals, anything car related going on the week ? I got a rental until Friday afternoon, will be doing some driving out to the Hoover damn, valley of fire, etc .....

You just missed me... check my pictures from Hoover Dam though:

And *DO NOT* miss stopping at the coffee cup in Boulder City. My absolute favorite place for breakfast.

Want something different for lunch? Check out Fuku burger in Las Vegas china town :)

We really enjoyed the Neon Museum tour. The Mob Museum was good too, Fremont Street area.

Neon museum def on the list ... Hoover damn looks crazy, ill be there thurs most likely. Is boulder city on the way to the damn ?

Its on the way when you drive from Vegas yes. Follow the signs for hoover dam through the business area and it's on your left.

If you are there on a Thurs and you like live classic rock, check out Yellow Brick Road on Fremont Street. Killer band.

I loved the pinball hall of fame! Take plenty of quarters and memories of hanging out in arcades.

The Shelby museum
Imperial palace car museum
On and on....
I've been to the Shelby museum, drag strip, pawn stars, every damn casino ..... looking for something different this time ! Currently chowing down inside cesars palace ... forgot how freaking huge this place was !

classic rock, yes ! Pinball, yes ! Thanks for the tips !

The Shelby facility is no longer at the track. It's north of downtown

I'm following this thread because I'm going to Vegas on the 9th - 12th of May and also looking for things to do besides the strip/casinos. Wife and I are taking a little road trip just to get away. Taking note of the ideas guys are coming up with.

On a related note, when driving through Death Valley last Monday, there was a sign that Scotty's Castle is closed. That's a good tour too when open.
