Same as my Mom does the past few years. She's 80 now. Wish I could convince my wife this is a good way to go.

I am retired, my wife still works. I pull the boxes up out of the basement, put up the tree, put on the lights and angel along with the outside decorations. If I wait for her to decorate the rest of the tree and house it won't happen and I will hear about why I didn't do it. But, If I do decorate, I get scolded about why I did it that way or why I didn't do it another way. Frustrating for sure. Sorry, probably speaking to the choir here.

Same as my Mom does the past few years. She's 80 now. Wish I could convince my wife this is a good way to go.

I do it most of the 'even years' (calendar)
the kids & family do the inlaws them years
so they don't have totravel back & forth as much

sometimes I do it on the regular years too
depends on my mood or how many lil' kids will be coming too

when lil' kids are involved
I usually try to do a big tree, most the times 'on odd' (calendar years)
I try to get them to come up early & go get/cut down the tree too
