Building a Dana 60 for my 1968 GTX, just can't seem to find a decent factory unit for a reasonable amount, so I guess I'm off to assemble an industrial axle...

Where do I locate the 7/16-20 hole just to the left of the pumpkin for the axle vent screw? I've been looking for some photos, and I can't find it in my service manual.

I'm looking for more-or-less correct appearance, and i would like the factory brake lines to fit right up to the tee block.

Anybody have any photos of the bottom of their car showing the axle detail? Or anyone know how far it is from the edge of the casting, or from the left axle tube flange?

thanks!

Back in May I had my Dana out for paint. No tape measure on it but you can see where the block is next to the main casting on the left tube. Excuse the grunge, it was all cleaned up nice later. :)

perfect, nice photo Photon...this should work just fine.

My pickup truck housing has the block 2 1/4" from the edge of the center section to the center of the block....

1-11/16 from the casting to the center of the vent hole. Measurement taken from a 69 B body axle.

Thanks much guys. Looks like the hole is pretty much top-dead center on the tube. I'll spot it there and then fit up my axle brake lines before I drill!

I have the brake lines i saved off a dana i can take some measurements off if you want. They haven't been taken off the Tblock.

RS23 I got my new brake lines in the UPS today, don't think I need measurements yet, thanks tho.
