SP had 159K miles on the clock when we did the Resto. The Rockers were really sloppy. So, we decided to put on Roller Rockers as a replacement. Used Profom 66868 Rockers, and then the Proform 66416C Push rods. Broke in the Cam. No worries. Took car out for two around the block test drives, no worries. Yesterday was a Very nice day in KC so decided to take her in for an inspection to get tags on her. upload_2021-1-13_16-18-19.jpeg upload_2021-1-13_16-18-19.jpeg

I noticed she was down on Power and was "smoking" on riders side exhaust. Took off the valve cover on that side and noticed one Rocker was out of place and the Push Rod was laying on the side. Fortunately, found the pieces. Has anyone else ever seen this?? Looks to me like it might well be a metal failure? Best, Brian

The way that broke looks like a "cast" material, not forged. I don't know why but I've always been leery about ProForm products.

Never heard much good about Pro Form products.....and there's really not a good reason to be running aluminum roller rockers on a mild street engine. Waste of monehy imo. Did you check for coil bide etc?

Hi Cranky. Thank you. The decision came as one not to get power, but to get adjustability, just in case. Needed some new rockers and frankly the shaft was scored a bit as well. This was pretty close on price to the Stock, so just spent the extra few bucks thinking it would be a safe bet. As it turns out, the "Original" stock rockers with the original push rods went 159K. These went about 15 miles. Grrrrr.

Sorry to see this. Please remove the intake to make sure there are no more pieces in there. Unless you can put the puzzle together and. Are sure they are all out.

Chalk up another win for the stock parts.

All this fancy new sh!t is just that.

I agree. What was I thinking. The Stock parts go 159K. What else do I need to know?? One of those, My Bad, moments in a very long restoration. We are NOT after HP. The car will be driven by my wife. It is Her Car. Lets hope we can solve it fairly easily. Thanks to Team FBBO. Best, B.

The pushrod cup insert failed (fractured). That type of failure can be attributed to material or machining process. 440'

I've been running the cheap summit pushrods in my charger for over 20 years with heavier than stock Mopar springs.
              They are still good.
