Lugnuts....

What is the difference between "conical seat" and "bulge seat"?

In general, conical seat refers to the cone, or angled, shape of the mating portion of the nut against the wheel. For Chrysler product wheels, the cone is at a 60 degree angle.

Bulge actually refers to the portion of the nut above the seat, where the sides of the nut bulges outward wider than the mounting points or the hex sides of the nut. Bulged conical seat is a common nut, and a style used on later Chrysler product wheels also with a 60 degree cone, and can be fitted to earlier wheels originally equipped with conical seat nuts. The wider bulged seat can fit and hold better, especially in worn lug holes on steel wheels.

The following two images show original Chrysler Rallye wheel conical seat lug nuts and aftermarket bulged conical seat lug nuts that can replace them:

Other nuts, including regular open lug nuts, can be with a straight conical or a bulged seat as well.

Thank you for the excellent explanation.
