Made a stupid mistake

I see primer. You need to determine how the job was down. Are the stripes tape, or are they painted?

If it is not tape:

The black looks to me like it was painted 1st, then masked and painted white.

If it was tape and took up the white, then your going to have a “step” between the surfaces if you just cover it up.

Me- I would carefully mask the whole stripe and paint it entirely over with maybe SEM Trim Black. If the existing stripe is paint, you could lightly sand/feather edge the missing spot within the stripe. If the stripe is vinyl, remove that portion AFTER masking, feather edge the white, then paint. Several light coats.

If you cannot sand/feather you could try some kind of paint with a texture perhaps.

That’s my 2 cents.
Its not primer it's the adhesive part of the decal. That's the next problem its super sticky if I leave it dirt and hair will probably stick all over it.

That's good news... When I first looked I thought primer also.... Goo-Gone will remove the adhesive & a heat gun will remove the old stripe... Either take it off & go without or replace the stripe... As others have mentioned, it draws the eye immediately... I couldn't leave it....

I have the opposite problem my 78 magnum from the previous owner plasti-dip
Painted the car and I used my industrial pressure washer held right against it and it won't come off. 10 minutes on one spot and removed a quarter sized spot! Holy crap! , I'm going to need a jackhammer!

Get yourself a decal/glue remover auto paint stores have Its a rubber disk fits on a drill will remove and WONT damage paint
I've used these eraser wheels to remove very old and cracked vinyl wrap from a Ram pick up I'm building. Works great and doesn't screw up the paint underneath. Eastwood has them. I would try a heat gun first though.

Murphy's Law

good luck
