Ok, so I have a 383 with studded main caps. Having trouble getting them off. Any valuable suggestions on how to take them off without ruining bearings. Should I remove studs and just use bolts? Is there a tool to remove them?

Tap them with a soft faced hammer, like a deadblow mallet.

Probably ARP studs, so using a 5/32 allen socket, remove them, and remove as usual. This is the easiest way to do it.

Remove the studs. Put each stud in the cap about 1". Pull outward on the studs while wiggling the cap forward and back. Remove 1,2,4, and 5. Then pull up on the crank a little to get #3 loose.
