I am selling a 426 Max Wedge engine...
I am re-posting this because I have much more info to put in this post

It only has 3,000 miles on it and never raced, just driven to car shows
This is a 440 forged crank block with Keith Black 9:75 pistons so you can run pump gas in it
The top end is all OEM Max Wedge top end, except the carbs
It has been on the engine stand for a long time now, so I am sure the carbs would need to be freshened?....Maybe...The carbs are Carter AFB's numbers I see on them is 0-1862 and 6-2312 and the manifold is 1963 Max Wedge number is 240276-1
I have the papers from the machine shop on the block it was line bored and balanced and new rod bolts the cam is HYD lift in. .488 ex. .491 Duration in. 230@ .50 ex. 236@ .50 I have the papers on the cam too
The head number is 2402286
I also have lowered the price down to $5,500....Firm

U mean its a 440 Max Wedge, kinda false advertising. Guess u made me look though .

I'd say his description is pretty honest. Wedge heads and manifold attached to a 440. It is what it is, someone wants it or they don't. I can't pick it up.. so not for me.

Sorry if you think I was false advertising, but look at the bright side a 440 is 14 cu. in. bigger than a 426 so you are getting more cu. in. for your money

You think answering my original questions would be to much t ask for??

What rockers arms did you use?
Are the heads just gasket matched or fully opened up?
Is the intake ported at all?

A 426 max wedge block would be worth his asking price. U css as n get a 440 short block almost anywhere but u can’t find the max wedge top end very easily anymore. For the guy that know , are the carbs the proper ones. Thanks. Kim

From the ad: The top end is all OEM Max Wedge top end, except the carbs

if you look at the pictures you can see the rockers are Max Wedge
I didn't assemble the engine so I don't know what head gasket was used, but it ran very strong in my am 64 Plymouth Sport Fury 4 speed car

12.5 pistons and a big cam would make this engine a strong drag racer, but then no good for the street or driving to car shows
