Meet my Daughter...This is her Story..

Hey Rusty . . . I kinda know what you're going through, as my daughter had a severe heart problem at birth. But this is about your daughter - and it's great to see that she's got spirit and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. You're a great dad - and it's your help and support that keeps her pushing on - never give that up !

I think you have a huge FBBO group pulling for your daughter Melissa ! ! ! I know I am . . .

I donated..I hope lot's of others on here do too. I have a daughter too, and she is perfectly healthy, this story broke my heart, and I am glad that she has received help from Chive Charities. Please wish her all the best from me.

I am awe struck by her strength. What an amazing person. She is beautiful both inside and out. I hope that you show her this thread so that she knows about all the encouragement and best wishes being sent her way. She is an inspiration to us all.

Melissa, we Mopar people love an underdog. I have no doubt that you will continue to thrive in the face of so much adversity. You go girl and God bless you.

I did email her the link.. Maybe she will send me a note to cut and paste.. Than you all for the kind words and donations. Every penny helps. We are trying to buy her a house, but it will need altered drastically to accommodate her.

That is a great story and God bless her and your family! I sent that link to my daughter and told her to meet another Melissa, Yours has the courage and strength thats absolutely unimaginable.. Thank you for sharing!

She's incredible! I know you're a proud dad. Made my donation, not much but every bit helps! Thanks for sharing your story with us!

I had to donate. Suddenly my new steering wheel didnt seem that important. Wonderful thing Chives is doing.I shared on my facebook page too and hit my friends up.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I love my stupid, rusty old car, but it is just a car. Not a daughter, or a sister, whatever. We have these things to enjoy them, but they would be no fun if we didn't have loved ones to share them with.

Rustymopar: Please tell your daughter there are a lot of people pulling for her. Don't give up, don't give in, don't settle. She should know she is an inspiration to many. Please keep us posted with what I know will be good news in her future...

Great story, I'm really sorry to hear she had to go thru all of this... Make me feel really fortunate, that my kids were & are all still healthy... She's really truly "a strong woman for sure", give her my best, I wish her the best health & a long fulfilled life...

She read all of these comments because I copy and pasted the link to her. Her response is below.

Big fat thank you and lots and lots of hugs to all of you for having faith in me and supporting me! It has been a crazy 7 years and my biggest fear of ending up in a nursing home at 30 has sort of calmed down. I never wanted to feel like a burden to anyone or put my family trough the hard time of taking car of me, this will give me the chance to gain independence back and have the chance to function as "normal" as possible. I couldn't have gotten this chance with out your help and love. So I am sending all the positive vibes right back to you As I type this, karma will be very busy paying you all back for quite some time, thank you :)

Love,
Melissa

What a special and very tough person Melissa is. I firmly believe that attitude and outlook have amazing physical healing powers. I saw it myself when my wife had cancer 21 years ago. I also know that doctors can be wrong. Medical science is as much of an art as a science. Just because they say this is permanent, that doesn't necessarily make it so. Keep your spirit strong, Melissa!

Rusty,

Please keep us updated on Melissa's progress. I showed this thread to my 30 year old son who has a habit of being negative. It really impacted him.

Melissa, you are touching people even from your wheelchair. You are an inspiration to us all.

Rusty, you're daughter is truly a fighter and most deserving of the contributions that will make her life easier. Hopefully she will be able to build a house to meet her needs and continue to be an inspiration to others. I saw the front page story on her and the efforts of her sister and hope you don't mind if I share the link with others. Congratulations and you should be proud of both of these remarkable young ladies. Ken http://www.capitalgazette.com/news/...cle_9aaba78c-197e-5adf-9a78-dc93bed74a2e.html

Thank you for sharing this touching story Rusty, may God Bless your lovely daughter and her supportive family with continued strength and positive energy
