I can tell you now that the 1968 (same as 1964 model) heater was nothing to get all hot & bothered over.

A/C unit I run in mine is way more efficient and more reliable. And with a stonking big engine, who needs a heater with the engine beside you anyway???

I think they might have been talking about the fact that the Corvair which made a similar truck that had a less than great heating system, due to having been air cooled.

True dat. With a big block and headers/3" exhaust, the challenge becomes getting heat OUT of the interior.
