Took the rear seats out of my charger last night. Found a "metal band" with numbers stamped in it on both the rear and the bottom seat springs.

Sorry I don't have a picture..but does anyone know the purpose of the bands or if the numbers have significance?

Just replaced the foam in the front seats of my 66 Charger. Saw the same bands you speak of. Think these were nothing other than identification of the part number of the seat frames, nothing more..

I'm thinking an identifier for the assembly....

Don't lose it, they reduce the value of the car significantly if not attached...and it's highly illegal to reproduce or replace them with tags from a different seat..

HA! Yes..they all say that!

Thanks for the info though. I was curious as to what they were there for!

I was wondering the same thing a while back. Can’t remember what was stamped on mine. But, I think it was a date.
