Anyone hear anything about Muscle Cars at the Strip this year in Vegas? I was cancelled last year because of the "Chinese Communist Corona Virus" invasion.
Are they going to have it or are we going to see our shadow and hide under the kitchen table for another year?

Our Tyrannical governor is "THE" problem on this and he's still paying attention to the "Science" of it all (which means common sense and logic is nowhere to be found), he just decided the other day that we will be "allowed" to have bigger gatherings so we will see what that brings us. Hopefully things will open up more and more before alot of us end up in the unemployment lines.

Unfortunately, im betting on "hide under the kitchen table".
The indian casino is open here in Laughlin, i dont know about the rest. Are the vegas casinos open? If they are, why not the tracks?

I have not heard from Phil in awhile. Last I spoke to him he was hoping for September.
But that's a big maybe.

So they can't allow outdoor muscle car events but they are fine with allowing any and all antifa/terrorist outdoor events. The only thing they SHOULD be shutting down is commie-controlled Washington D.C. !

just show up, where the masks, and do it anyways. f'em, IMO we have to act like rebellious teenagers now since the soccer mom's are in charge, more than likely the law won't enforce it anyways. wish i could drive my stuff jealous, good luck guys.

Well, i raced a couple weeks ago at irwindale, in spite of the rediculous entry fee. Mask use was absolutely mandatory. I dont like it, i have a rebellious streak, i think masks are completely worthless, but if it comes down to " wear a mask, have a track, no mask no track!" I know which side i'll land on.

If they worked we wouldn’t have the same **** we had a year ago.

.....i think masks are completely worthless.....

I agree!!! It's propaganda BS.

On the subject however, I've heard that MATS was going to be shut down for good. The last MATS show I attended was 2017 (I used to live in Vegas) and that show's swap meet part was a disaster. My first MATS show was in 2006 and it was a good show back then. From 2006 thru 2017 the shows gotten better up until around 2012 and then it took a decline leading up to my last show in 2017. Now I'm only referring to the swap meet section of the show in which I'm glued to my spot the whole weekend.

The show was barely surviving to the point they invited all makes to the show and rebranding it to "Muscle Cars on the Strip". It was still a Mopar favored show but Fords and Chevys were welcomed. ugh If I was still living in Vegas, I'd be hard pressed to attend that show.

For such a wide open area, I thought that their swap meet would be better. It was not. Hardly anyone selling.

68 charger, im so starved for car events, i will attend almost ANY show, let alone one that is still "mostly" mopar. I considered a 500 mile round trip in a 7 mpg boxtruck, to attend the mopar show in Phoenix.

I didn't, i'm not completely crazy.

Last I heard he was trying to get a date from the track. Was hoping for mid/late March early April but we all know that didn't happen.Even if he got a mid April date,I was told it would take about 3 weeks to get everything together, sending out notices and people/staff. Not enough time in my books. There is still a chance for a September date,if he found out now that would give people time to work it in to their calendar. Maybe, but doubtful. As far as the speedway goes they really could care less about the event. It has been that way for years. They are more interested in larger events, thus more money. The wife and I were volunteers for 15 years. We have missed the last few.

Just announced Sept 10 weekend.

September in Vegas..... A Balmy 115 degrees.... Thank God it's a dry heat......

The Capital City Mopars is having our show September 11th!

So on the same day as 9-11 20th anniversary? Awkward.

If you'd been paying attention it's also the same weekend as the MATS show.. Which some consider a competing show... Pick one.... I pick neither... To damn hot at both locations and I'd rather go for a drive.....

Also division 7 NHRA race in Phoenix is that weekend.
He gets what they give him.
