I made some progress this week,engine bay prepped and primed.

I was surprised how little I had to trim off the rear upper interior panels! I should have the interior ready to paint soon!

It's getting real close to paint,I sprayed some black urethane on the sides to take a look. I'd rather check it this way before I mix the expensive red! All looks good,I'll be doing inside the doors,and around the windows next.

Sprayed some R6 today,next on the list is paint inside the doors,install the dash and glass. Then I guess I'll have to tackle the hood,as much as I can't stand hoods! lol

Can't say I miss the fiberglass work! The hood didn't fit,so I cut one side completely off,the other side is not as bad. It will need to be cut back about 6 inches. There is no lip on the front either,so I'll have to make one. This is a U S bodysource hood...so you know to run away!

Ugggh! It's one thing to get a sheetmetal body panel that doesn't fit well, and needs some work....But it's a whole new ball game dealing with bad fitting fiberglass. Yuck! Hate Fiberglass work. Good luck, I feel for ya....don't itch/scratch too much!

And yeah, as Propwash says...Fiberglass!

Aftermarket fiberglass component companies advertise as if their product is "A-1" quality!
In all reality, it takes hours to get that stuff correct!
This as an area in our hobby/profession that we need to "take control of" Somehow!

I do know that in the 60s and in 1970 the Shelby GT 500 hoods were "glass" and they hat "fit" issues from the factory!
Also, didn't the A12 hood fit poorly?
I believe the Cuda AAR and the Trams Am Challenger had issues too.

Tough call for me......... I hate working with it but it's allot easier to get it to do what you want. Nasty stuff

Thanks guys. All my updates are about body work...pretty boring stuff! It's ready for paint so I'm highly motivated to get the hood done. I once made a pair of fenders out of resin and Budweiser boxes,was a win/win situation,the more Bud's I had the more the fenders got made! LOL. I got the screws after,Ron gave me a link,and I got them there,thanks though.

Looking good man. I don't envy you on the glass. I did a floor in a boat once when I was young and I was miserable. I will follow to see the results.

Grafting with mat and resin on the inside,then back on the car for the finish filler work.

I managed to get the hood on and sculpted! The filler days are numbered!
