Found some pics of my 70 GTX I bought when I was attending TSTI Technical school. It was a true hemi 4 speed, 4.10 Dana car I picked up without the engine. I built a 440 6 pack engine as my final exam and dropped it in. I had a super stock hemi 727 I bought from my cousin who raced it in a 68 charger. I remember him ordering it and picking it up when it came in. Thing shifted so hard my mother wouldn’t ride in it. Anyways the pictures brought back some great memories. Picked up my daughter from the hospital in it when she was born. Sold it to someone in Rockport/Fulton TX area.

No but did have the air grabber hood and was originally blue.
Okay, different Hemi GTX than... a buddy owned a gorgeous restored TX9 Hemi 4 Spd 4.10 geared 70 GTX with power windows...

I tried to buy a white 70 Hemi GTX 4 speed car from a salvage yard I'm Massachusetts in 1978. It was missing the driveline, including the Dana rear axle. The drivers side vent window was smashed out,and the steering column broken into pieces. The air grabber hood was still there,it said Hemi on the back edge. The car was sitting on the rear bumper. It was a recovered theft obviously. They said $250.00 takes the whole car! By the time I begged and borrowed the $250.00 it was sold.

Cool story, RT! Reminds me of my very first car. It was originally a 440 4bbl, 4-speed Trak Pak car, FK5 inside and out. It was painted black when I bought it (I never did get it back to the original color). It had a 440 6bbl out of a '69 A-12 RR in it - including the '69 shifter in place of the original pistol grip. So it probably had the A-12's 4-speed, too.

I'm willing to bet everyone here vividly remembers the first time they rode in a hemi car....
I sure as hell do.
"Damn thing sounds all NASCAR-y!" I believe was all I could manage at the time....

I must say you can’t beat the sound, smell and brute force of a Hemi once it gets some air in it and starts to really breathe. Scares the crap out of me everytime!

I was filling up my '66 before putting it away for the winter the other day when a young guy at the gas station complimented me on the car. He had recently restored a Chevy square body truck with his dad and then sold it. Now they're looking for a Grand National. Nice young guy. Anyway, he asked me what engine was in my Satellite and I told him. He said I bet that really scoots, and I told him, yeah, I can scare most people with it.
