My 74 RR doesn’t have hood call outs normal?

My 74 roadrunner has had a rough life, been painted over the stripes then stripes pealed off later, anyway there are no hood call outs, just wondering if this is normal. Almost every car I see has hood call outs and mine has the stripe package on the build sheet and HP 400. Just seems odd not to have them.Any ideas?

Well all I know is a friend bought a 74 new that was a 318 car.The 318 cars didn't have call outs.
Now in your case maybe it was a mid/late year change ? Maybe all the early cars didn't have them ? Just a guess.
Not sure about the 73 RR cars.

Might have swapped the hood at some point or it’s buried under the layers of paint. Here’s my fender tag for fun

I bought a 1973 Road Runner with a 340 4-speed that has the hood decal but no engine callout numbers. I bought it from the original owner and he said he had the numbers delated. Not sure if he did it himself or if you could order it that way. He is no longer around so I can't ask him. I see the brochure does not have them on the red car and the survivor below doesn't have them either but that has a 318 under the hood.

Probably had them at one point. Only 318's did not have them for 73 and 74.

They must of sanded them off when it was repainted. I dont even have the white for the actual call out letters.

I was looking at this and it looked like I needed another code for the hood.

Stickers are awful easy to sand off if it's been repainted, and potentially somewhat expensive and depending on time frame, difficult to locate for replacement.

Bolt on emblems...different story.

It's just epoxy primer now.

I am starting to like a hood without the stripes. Your car looks nice being black. Thanks for the pictures, gives me ideas when I finish my metal work.

My 73 always just had the numbers, but no stripe on the bulge. I actually prefer it that way.
