It is with much regret that I make this post.....

After 20 years of working here at Layson's, my body says it's time to give it up....my wage earnin days are done. The arthritis just won't let me do the job any longer. Trying to rehab has not been as good as what I hoped it would be. And I'm starting to have a couple of other "issues" starting to set in besides that. I've been undergoing tests, but nothing specific yet.....this gettin old crap is just that.....

So this is my official "I'm old, I'm tired, and I'm retired" notice.

I'm in the process of packing up and getting ready to move back to the midwest where the living is cheaper and my SS check will go a whole lot farther than it will here in Washington.....so I won't be able to respond to any messages/inquiries here on FABO/FBBO.

I'm here in Washington too, am retired too, and from the midwest as well. As much as I would like to leave this state, the midwest humidity is brutal. I'm from south of Lake Michigan.

Sorry to hear it Rick. You have to listen to your body, and do what is right for you and family. Good luck in your retirement. This is 14 years for me, and the best "job" I have ever had. I turn 79 next month, and this is the first year I have actually felt old. Too much sitting around on my a$$ this winter, methinks!

Enjoy retirement. I'm from Ohio and have been living in Washington state since 1975. I visit Ohio about every 2 years. It is cheaper to live there but I would miss the mountains if I moved back there. Yes, the aches and pains are terrible but as said "keep moving". Take care.

Enjoy your well earned retirement! My wife retired nine years ago, and I'm coming up on four. We were both pleasantly surprised at how our physical issues eased up when we stopped working. She started moving more, I did less. You'll find out what works for you.

Good luck on your retirement, just remember retirement means you do what you want, doing nothing is a sue way to make your health worse. When I was young, I would listen to my older relatives complain about arthritis and i though they were just crybabies, now I have the disease, and it is awful to deal with. just had a knee replaced, they say I need a hip, it is affecting my lungs, and on the good side medication I am on seems to be helping my other joints survive. Just from my experience, keeping active, and a hot tube does wonders. Hopefully I will get to complete a couple car projects before I die, least that is the plan.
