Two weeks ago my wife had some mild chest pains. We took her to the E. R. And her cardiac enzymes were a little high. So with a little pushing we got them to schedule some tests.
Well her widow maker was 99% blocked. They put a stent in and we are home now. This is the before and after.
Good early catch, Scott, and good on you for pushing for proper attention. My wife had an early catch of lung cancer that showed up when she went in for tests on her gall bladder. She had her gall bladder removed, and when she was healthy enough, went under the knife to remove one lobe of her lung. She never smoked.Following tests have all been good. Wishing a speedy recovery for your wife.
I've heard of this before and wonder how it can get this bad without a person having any warning signs.
This is NOT in any way meant to disrespect you or your wife.
I just wonder if the people live fairly sedate lives and don't exert themselves much so the blockage never reveals itself with fatigue, dizziness or heart palpitations.
Glad it worked out for you two.
Same thing for me April 30th last year. I went in about 1:00 AM with the classic chest pressure and left arm pain. They sent me to St Mary's in Rochester about 7:00AM. By 1:00PM they'd concluded that artery was just about plugged and sent me in for the stent. In fact while they were starting the procedure they thought it plugged completely. I was awake for the procedure and able to watch the screen while they worked. Fascinating. The next day I felt great.
Prayers for recovery sent. Good call on pushing for further tests! I most likely would have left thinking the doctors know best, the story would have ended much differently then.
