nation going to pot

My wife and I were foster parents for 15 years and had 19 kids spread over that time. We speacialized in kids that had been traumatized in one form or another. Every case we had was drug related. From 12year olds dealing to abandoned babies. Im not taking the side of alcohol that is totally different beast. The time and effort spent on getting these kids a chance at another fair shot because of our drug culture in this country is finominal. And yes it is a culture and dangerous one. I dont have an answer for it but I truly believe that this country is headed up the wrong river on this topic.

It is also an Historical tale that a number of our "Founding Fathers" were uses of Opiates and Cocaine and grew Marijuana alongside their Hemp grows which were for making rope. In fact Washington and Jefferson were some of the highest!!! Or so it was reported. This Country was found upon Drugs...cr8crshr/Tuck

As a native conservative Oregonian (non-smoker):, pot is already everywhere. All you need is a over purscribing "naturalpathic doctor" to write you a purscription for whatever ails you. Then you refill your purscription as the medical marijuana clinics that are abundant. All this is doing is providing the state with a larger piece of the pie as it already controls liquor. The profits are supposed to fund schools, police and abuse recovery clinics, in theory its not an ill conceived plan.

When it comes to funding as you've stated, I could see its benefits. I guess better for someone else than for me personally. I however will hold off judgement of those who do partake as I really don't have a dog in that fight as a former user. Money does in fact talk and revenue going into the State coffers is a really good thing when it is from another source rather that the Tax Payers....cr8crshr/Tuck

Living in a country where it's strictly illegal both for recreational and medical use - I would still say that a legalization is way better than kids smoking RC like Spice just because it's legal but end up in coma instead.

I was diagnosed with MS about 5 years ago, and I've felt so healthy like I did visiting colorado a couple of weeks ago. Muscle spasms - gone. Constant migraine - gone. Weird feeling in legs - gone. But now we're talking recreational use and I think that it's going to get worse before it gets better. Look what happened when they lifted the ban on alcohol - people were drinking like crazy but that have settled down right?

I don't really care if pot is legalized for recreational use, let the states decide. Prohibition didn't work so well and gave tremendous profits to organized crime.
The real issue for me is its medical use. Why should someone that is suffering, be denied something that may work, when other medications have failed. The Florida amendment that recently failed, did have a majority vote, but did not quite make the 60% required to pass. A huge amount of money was spent on opposition to the amendment. A commercial that ran over and over again on tv featuring a doctor who was actually a gynecologist, probably scared enough people against the amendment. Why was 5 million dollars donated by a Las Vegas casino mogul to oppose this bill.
There are plenty of legal drugs out there that have some pretty serious side effects, yet they are prescribed.

If people keep on thinking that pot is okay, then the next thing you know is they're going to repeal the Volstead Act and allow alcohol again, and we'll be in a fine pickle I tell you what.

What happens when users smoke pot like they do cigarettes, say 20-40 joints a day?

My guess is that they would be so incapacitated they wouldn't be able to buy more. Even Snoop Dogg doesn't smoke that much. You realize that 40 joints 24 hours is an insane amount right?

Pot is the least of anyones worries.

Cigarette smokers do more harm.

Accidents happen for all kinds of reasons, convenience dictates the reason for most...
Like a guy smokes weed yesterday and then the next day runs a stop sign and kills another motorist... now it wasnt the fiddling of his radio, the coffee cup he was juggling while eating the breakfast bar or even the text message he fumbled to look at....nope, it must be the pot he smoked yesterday dang it....

People go right for the thing they detest the most and call that the cause.

Fact is we all have more to worry about with these pill poppers!

Cigarette smokers do more harm! BS hell the leader of the free world smokes and umm ok bad example

pot seems ok to mellow out on or in moderation but my friends do it all day everyday and it makes them tired all the time and they are real cranky without it so it becomes like a drug But it is still way safer then spice or any of that garbage

What gets to me is how drug enforcement is handled in this country through the justice system. Some idiot walking down the street with a joint in his pocket can get arrested and end up in jail while big shot bankers can knowingly launder billions in drug money, get caught, pay a fine, and never see one second of jail time. Does that seem right to you? I don't hear people getting all up in arms about it.

Seeing as this is now reality in our nations capital for recreational use. Its still a federal crime (currently) it will be interesting to see what becomes of the law. If the tax taken (assuming federal tax comes into play) in from sales was used to clear up say, the national debt prior to lining pockets, it could do the country some good. Some good points on the synthetics and pharms out there.

This "issue" is no different than any other "issue" you choose to debate about the legal aspect of it.
There are those on the planet who are responsible and those who are not. Responsible people drink, smoke pot, take drugs, etc. and know how to not have it be the "only" thing in their life. There are those who do not know how to do so and I know or have known and met plenty of both. It does not really matter if it is legal or not the use/abuse will go on forever (forever being our lifetimes anyway). get it over, legalize it , take the tax advantage produced by legalization, and let the media find something else to "sensationalize!

Disclaimer..."I am NO angel ";)

These new synthetics (bath salts etc) are scary when you talk about abuse, and not defined under law, as well as testing. When compared to what was around when we were young. I find it interesting how our govt is changing its perspective on the subject, capitalism at its finest.

A year ago I had major shoulder surgery on my right shoulder. I also have a pretty high tolerance to pain killers. I cannot take over the counter pain killers for small pain relief, such as headache etc. I always need Voltaren or better.

But this surgery I had was a killer. I really did not realize how much we move our shoulders doing normal everyday things. SO instead of using a ton of Codeine based drugs, I got hold of some grass..Purchased an infuser so I did not have to smoke it, and used that when I needed pain relief.

Now I would not call myself a user, I still have over half of the small amount I got hold of. But I have to say, for pain relief, well there is NO competition. It is hands down the best I have ever used. I mean I did not feel a THING after a few intakes on the infuser. And then it lasted all night (that is when my shoulder was the worst..) I had no bad side effects, and even though I was not even contemplating driving, I probably could have. Maybe in my case using it as real pain relief that is all it did to me. But it was most welcome.

HIGHly recommended.
