AArrrrrrrhhh, I am sick of using these cheap Chinesiam wire wheel brushes that begin coming apart, slinging out wire threads at the first moment of use. I use a lot of wire wheels when Im grinding off rust, floorboards, undersides, rear axles, A arms, just about any and all frame and body parts for refurbishing. These crappy imports make wearing super thick clothing, safety glasses AND complete face shields a minimum as I soon have more wire in my clothes than the brush. Im in a small town and do not have access to any industrial mill supplier so must use Amazon or Flea bay.

CAN anyone recommend where I can purchase some good quality, American made wheels that might last more than one using . I just ordered two , in Norton packaging , that claim to be USA made. But, the scammers are in to packaging cheap crap in USA made looking wrappers so one does not know until opening. Sorry for the rant, just fed up with cheap junk, can you recommend something of decent quality, thanks....

Check out BRM Brush Research Manufacturing. Sold them for decades. The best there is.

I used to use a lot of the 2-1/2" ones. I could easily handle the grinder with one hand whereas the larger one's required two hands. I've never had a problem with any I ever used including one's from Amazon but face it, none will last forever !! I never felt the $10 ones were any better than $3 one's - just paying for a brand name - nothing more. Same applies to 4-1/2" flap discs.

Whatever you do..... do not look up Grinder in the App store.

I buy the cup brushes from Hilti, online, big money, hold up pretty well, but will too eventually fly apart, so safety shield and long sleeves are essential.

Digressing slightly here - this is exactly why you should never clean your BBQ grille with a wire brush.

I'll second the BRM suggestion have used their stuff for years at my shop on
8-10 in bench grinders and some 8in hand grinders.
They have a very large selection of brushes..
You can order online from their website.

There have been times my belly has looked like a pin cushion !!

Or stuck in your face!
