    [h=2]Please post photo's of 1968 B Body 383 & 440 auto radiator part # 2898045[/h]

Would someone mind posting some photo's of one of these radiators? I'd like photo's from all angles and especially some good pictures of the straps so I can see how they look from the side and where they attach to the radiator top and bottom tanks.

I have a line on the tanks and have a 65 rad and would like to see if the straps are the same or almost the same. Also measurements of the core from side to side and top to bottom and location of the shroud mounting holes from top to bottom..

I'm also looking for the metal shroud and measurements of the holes .. how far apart they are and how far from top and bottom of the shroud.

2 piece metal shroud part numbers:

    Upper PN # 2417 423
    Lower PN # 2417 427

    Thanks for any help

Thanks 71AG I really appreciate it! Hopefully the one in the shop is the 045. I would have thought a lot more members had one but maybe a lot were swapped out like mine. ??

Thanks for your efforts anyway. Do you mind showing some photo's of straps and what they look like where they attach, where the shroud hardware attaches and give me some dimensions of the holes in the straps to top / bottom / in between and the core dimensions?

I'm planning on buying a set of tanks and rebuilding one but don't have the correct straps.

My '68 Sport Satellite was originally a 383 automatic car. I re-cored the radiator but I believe the top tank and straps are original. The new core is the same size as the original but with an extra row of tubes. I'll take a look tomorrow and see what I have.

No problem. I can't do it until Tuesday though because of work and several Doctor appointments with the Misses.

Thanks Snakeyes I really appreciate it. would you mind posting pics of the sides of the straps and where they attach to the tank? I'm also looking for measurements of the core from side to side and top to bottom where the core connect to the tanks and straps.

I'm also looking for the metal shroud and measurements of the shroud mounting holes on the straps .. how far apart they are and how far from top and bottom of the shroud.

This is a from a 1968 Coronet R/T with a 440/727 it is a different part # from the one you have listed but looks to me like the ones pictured here. My part # on this one is 2524983 and if it is similar to the one you have I can send you the measurements. It is 22 inches.

I've been great. Just very busy for this time of year in my area. Got to get it done when the weather is still good. Hope things are good for you as well. It was also good to read a post from rustyratrod earlier today.

It does look similar but the top hose mount is on the wrong side. I would like to see some pics of the side brackets to tell if they are the same though and measurements of where the holes are and how the shroud mounts look.

I would be interested in the fan shroud if it looks like the metal would sand down smooth. Is it for sale?

Tallhair here are more photos of my shroud. I hope you can make them out they loose some clarity when I shrink them.
                      100_7631.JPG 100_7645.JPG 100_7641.JPG 100_7642.JPG 100_7639.JPG 100_7638.JPG 100_7637.JPG 100_7636.JPG 100_7635.JPG 100_7633.JPG 100_7644.JPG

I can not let go of this shroud as I need it for the car it came out of. Five years ago when I was sixty I had a little visit to the hospital, everyone thought I was checking out at that point. So it appears at that point a lot of my car parts as well many of my tools sprouted wings and flew away. I should have another one of these out of o '68 Coronet 500 I have but I haven't been able to locate it as of now. I'm thinking it also must have wings. It also amazes me how many of my so called friends found parts for their cars while I was down for the count. Some of my most rare parts flew away and it is surprising how my "friends" no longer need these. I am old but I ain't stupid, well maybe not. I am also including a page from a Glenn Mitchell Collision Estimator Guide that I have had for years. It covers American cars from 1960 to 1970. I guess that is where I got confused about your radiator, look at how many different ones are listed here. Ain't those prices great? Hope this helps you. I have a friend (a real friend) that can fabricate you one of these shrouds if you can not locate one. He is also originally from your state, but lives down here now .

Thanks a ton for the help trimmer! I am sick to hear former "friends" would do steal from you while you were in the hospital. What goes around comes around and hopefully they'll be duly rewarded for that. Man those prices LOL!
