Wasn’t sure what to title this. Basically I’d like to get new 15 inch magnum 500 wheels for my 69 Super Bee. I’ve looked at a couple things and there’s different widths and there’s also different offsets. Everything on the car related to suspension is stock. What size/width wheel should I get and does there need to be a specific offset? Stock drum all around.

Factory size for a 383 was 14 X 5.5" rim with an F70-14 sized tire. If you want to be able to rotate your tires go 15 X 7" all 4. To keep a stock height/stance, 215/70-15 would be the same height. 225/70-15. a little taller and wider. You can also go 60 series but that will give you a drop in height for the same sizes.

I’ll probably go with a little bit taller tire. I went from 3.23 to 3.55 with my gearing in third member. I have a stock torque converter and pretty stock engine. I was told if I used a 15 inch wheel and a little bit taller tire that the 3.55 would be fine for highway driving.

My guess is that the 3.55 gear will like a tire that is 26.5 to 27" for general driving. Not sure what the torque converter is, but the 11" will be just fine, so would a 12". The 12" is just not so good off the line.

255/60R15 on a 7” wide center offset wheel looks nice

Here are rims that I am running on my cars. Both sets are 15" X 7". The Magnum 500 looking rims are actually 1-piece aluminum rims. The black detail is powder coated, center cap is plastic. They are lighter and less expensive than steel Magnum 500's. They are sold here in Canada by Golden Leaf Automotive, but I bought mine at a local swap meet for $100.CAN each new still their boxes. I couldn't get my $$$ out fast enough! They are going on my '64 Polara.
My other set of rims are for my 1967 R/T. They are a Torque Thrust knock-off sold by Jeg's Speed shops. I paid just under $100.US each for them. I found the R/T stickers online and they were same size as wheel center hub cap. I am not sure of back spacing, but they clear disc brakes on both cars. I am guessing 3 1/2". Tires are 215 R 70, about 26.5" tall. It is getting harder to find big 14" tires.

For 15 years I had 225/60-15's on Magnums across all 4 corners on my '68 Charger. It was a great balanced look that filled the wheel wheels without looking too far off stock. Recently I upgraded the rubber with 255/60-15's on the back. Jury is out for me. The back hooks up much better now (manual, 3.55 gearing and 380 HP on the dyno) whereas the 225's loved to spin. However, it now has a slightly aggressive stance which wasn't the look I was going for as the Charger looks stock to those that don't know better.

My car has 15x7 chrome magnums and 245-60-15 tires
Currently BFG TAs,,,,,,,,But thats about to change as I have redline radials on order from Diamond Back

You got alot of wheel space to fill on the rear of a 69 Coronet. I got Crager 15x10's on the back of my Coronet. I wanted to stay more stock looking on my GTX but not too skinny so went with magnum 500 15x8's on rear and 15x7's front. Everbody has an opinion on what looks good, go with what YOU think looks good, thats all that matters.

Front 15x7 4.25 bs with 225/70/15 and rear 15x8 4.5 bs 275/60/15 is a popular combo on these B bodies and will fit/not rub.
If you go 10" wide on the rear, bs needs to be measured carefully, it will be around 5.25.

I have 15x8 (4.5 backspace) wheels on all four corners. Tires: 245/60R15 on front and 275/60R15 in the back. No rubs, full turning lock to lock on the steering with no issues. Here are two pictures for reference in case this looks good to you.

I have 4 different sets of 15x7's on front and 15x8's in the rear with 295/50's in the rear on all. Fills the wheel well and doesn't have the jacked up look.

What size tire are you running on the fronts?
<<<Answer>>>
245/60 on most of them.

To the OP: With the above choice, you will see a bit of a difference in rim width since 6PKRTSE is running 7" in the front and 8" in the rear. I chose to run the same size rims and personally like that better. However, there is no right or wrong choice here, it is all the preference of the car owner. I suggest you look closely at the cars and see what you prefer. Looking at some of these cars is a great way to see what you like best.

Good Luck!

I just ordered a set of magnum 500 wheels this week. Rear 15x8 and front 15x7 with center caps. Found out wheels are on back order. 6 week estimated availability... Thought I would let you know if you decide to get them.

L 60 15's on 15x10's LOL
