Hey Gang, This is a great site you have here. I wanted to introduce myself and my new project.
I just picked up this 70 Super Bee from a body shop owner in Alabama. He started restoring the car 10 yrs. ago, but lost interest. So it's been sitting in the back of his shop all this time.
It's a Plum Crazy car w/ Black vinyl top, black bucket seat interior and black bumble bee stripe.
383 Mag. 4 speed w/ ramcharger hood, and posi. (not sure what size gear yet)
These pics do not do the car justice. It's a clean, rust free, complete, running and driving car. Everything is here to finish it up. Except for the correct wheels and a few interior pieces, this car is complete.
The guy loaded it to the roof with boxes of parts that he's been accumulating over the years, including rechromed bumpers and tons of bright work. So restoration on this should be childs play for me and my boys here at the body shop.
Since we are strictly Ford guys here, I do not know a lot about these cars and will have many questions. Also, I am having trouble decoding all the numbers on the fender tag. If I post the tag here, can someone help me decode this?
Thanks in advance for your help and input on this. Nicholas in Michigan. :headbang:

Welcome to the board! Welcome to the world of Mopars. If you are a Ford guy, you just stepped on the accelerator for spending cash. Even compared to the California Special you have in the background (nice btw).
Post up your tag and someone can help you decode it. I have a sheet that decoded my 70 GTX I can send to you.

    my understanding is:
V1X - upper body color - full vinyl roof black
N96 - hood treatment - shaker hood (on Plymouth but not sure for Dodge that it is shaker), have also seen it marked as high altitude emissions but I think that is for after 1983
FC7 - lower body color - Violet Metallic
    M6X9 - trim code - interior grade medium (M) vinyl buckets (6), black (X9)
TX9 - interior paint color (for upper doors, pillars) - Black
114 - day of year produced
    124868 - vehicle order number
    E63 - engine code - 383 4bbl 335hp
D21 - trans code - Heavy duty 4spd manual trans
    WM23 - car line (W) / price class (M) / body type (23) - Charger/Coronet (W) , Medium price class (M), two door hard top coupe (23)
    N0A - engine code (N) / model year (0) / engine plant (A) - 8 cylinder 383 4bbl (N), 1970 (0), Lynch Road Michigan (A)
192361 - production sequence number that creates the VIN

It truly is a small world. My Engine guy grew up in RI as well. He worked for Tasca throughout the 60's and 70's building the engines in all of their drag cars. His name is Jerry Cardella.

    I met him!
I used to go in there and see Bill Lawton, Jerry, the "Big-Bopper" (Bob Sr) etc.
I sat in the Mystery 7 and Mystery 8 AFX/A Mustangs and the Thunder Bolt factor drag-car.
Then later on when Jerry was there, he built the BOSS 429 engine in Bob seniors car the truly wicked 70 BOSS he ran around in.
Man that was a fast car...
But hey..this is a MOPAR site!
I have to go home and say 10 'Hail Marys" and 5 "Our fathers" ...oops!

PS: That "Air Grabber" set-up is worth at least $1,500 as it sits!
You can restore it to like new condition.
