72 RR 440 MT no AC. I just replaced my radiator with a 2 row aluminum from Classic Industries . I have bypassed the heater core until I get this one rebuilt or replaced. My question what is the best way to purge the system to get rid of any possible air in the system. I ran it for 20 mins. in the driveway 75* here today and never got any pressure on either the upper or lower hoses. I took the cap off and could see some circulation. BTW new water pump , thermostat , and hoses. Any help is much appreciated.

You pretty much did it ... not many voids for air to get trapped like in the newer cars, our cars don't take much at all ... especially with the heater core bypassed !

Drill a couple of 1/8" holes in the outer ring of the thermostat.
