Hey guys, I am new to the forum. Pictured below is an all original paint 68 satellite sport with the numbers matching driveline (383HP, 727 auto, 742 case 8 3/4 rear). The car has sat in a garage since 1979 (still has the plates on it) and I was lucky enough to buy it from the second owner who just had bought it off the original owner. The driveline was in various pieces when I got it, but recently I was going over the brake system and there does not appear to be a return spring for the pedal. Never having owned one of these cars, I don't know what I am missing. Can someone take a picture of a factory set up or point me in the right direction?

depends on what system you have. I do not know of a spring for the brake peddle return, there is a spring in the Master cyl that takes care of this and in the drums themselves, for a manual drum car. but power brakes have a spring on the linkage. I do not have a pic handy.

OH and Welcome to the site,Very nice score there. they all get sold someday!!!

I can't help you with your question, but can say the first thing you need is a Factory Service Manual. This manual will help you on things like this with pics and detailed instructions on how to repair and troubleshoot. You can buy these in many places including E-Bay. And welcome to the site, nice score you have there.

Welcome to the forum. I also have a 68 Sport Satellite. There is no return spring on the brake pedal.

And if you find a replacement grill for that car, let me know where you found it... I need one, too... :(

my original 66 has a spring for manual brakes....does yours have power brakes or manual brakes?
