I've got a couple of 66's.
I think that may not be the correct front bumper on your car? or maybe the wrong brackets?
It should angle back on the bottom and the wrap around the front fender is curved more.
Mine is kind of bent up but for reference:

I noticed that too. It doesn't look like a Belvedere bumper though but think the brackets would be the same between the two sister cars? Nice car still....
