@Jerry Hall I'm going to take a wild guess and say "3/4" cams got their name from a .750" lift? Like I said...WAG. I don't even know if there are any cams with that much lift. Talk to me forum!
Roco & I have no idea of lift, duration, or makers. They were offered as 3/4 or full race in the 50's & 60's.
The 3/4 race cam term was born when Hot Rodders began looking for a less radical version of a “full race” camshaft, that performed well for street duty and still be competitive on Sunday at the strip! The vast majority of Hot Rodder’s drove Flathead equipped Ford’s (until the introduction of the early Hemis), the same old Ford also drove the family to grandmas, mom drove it to pick up groceries at the Red&White, dad drove the car to work and ran it to hell & back on Sunday! This term (I’ve read), is similar to Stage I, Stage II and so on, basics meaning a little less than full race.
