i was wondering if it’s safe to go with a new old stock thermostat or if I should just buy new thermostat. What would you guys say? Is it recommended to just get a new one or would a nos one be good to use?

If it actually is a New Old Stock (NOS) thermostat and is the correct temperature, 180*, I would use it. If not, there probably is a NAPA store close by. No need to order, they have them in stock...

Whatever you do, cook it up to temp on a stove to make sure it works. Got something to check the temp of the water? Meat thermometer should do the trick.....

I definitely agree with Cranky, WHATEVER you choose, check with a meat thermometer. Better safe than broken down.

You’re talking 5$ bro - splurge. Super Stant
Not about the money. It’s about the wait if I gotta order a second one after waiting for the first. I’ll just buy a new one. I normally like having everything I can have original on a car.

Just curious, what does a nos thermostat cost?

You don't need a $50 :poke: N.O.S. thermostat
go to Napa or wherever, get a new one, Stant
