OER Seat Backs

Has anyone had difficulty making the OER seat back panels fit their ‘70, ‘71 seats? It is a very tight fit at the bottom of the seat back where the seat panel fits around the frame, to the point I think I’ll break them if I try to force them on. I wanted original seat panels but couldn’t find any in good condition. Thanks for any help.

I think they were made by Metro. They are branded OER and I bought them from Jegs but I think they are rebranded Metro.

The Metro ones are supposed to fit... The Palco ones are tight across the lower hinge area...

Ohhh. Maybe the OER and Palco seat backs are the same I’ll look into the Metro. Thanks for responding!

What car are they for? Are the seat backs the style with the separate metal bracket for the release? I've been looking at seatbacks for my 70 charger and had another thread asking about OER vs Dashtop (big price difference). Let me know what you find out

Metro released seat backs probably fifteen years ago... Then they had a fire... Not sure if they are making them since... From what I've seen OER doesn't make much stuff, they generally resell other peoples product..

Are Palco/Dashtop per.the same manufacturer?

I don’t know if Palco and OER are the same but the OER are too narrow at the base, where they fit around the frame. They appear to be about 1/4” too narrow. Metro is still manufacturing, as best I can tell because their products are still available from some vendors I’m returning mine to Jegs. Mine are for an early ‘71 Satellite.

Palco/Dashtopper is the same company, Metro is a different company that does still make stuff, just not sure if they retooled for seat backs after their fire... OER isn't so much a manufacturer as they are a reseller...

Thanks. Classic sells Dashtopper and OER 70 Charger seatbacks. Significant price difference. I wouldn't think OER would be half the price from the same company.

Anyone buy any of the above recently that can speak to fit & quality?

Sounds like OER could be problematic (fit); however, based on price, is it really a rebranded Metro or is it a 3rd manufacturer? Makes me a little skeptical on Metro; however, @1 Wild R/T mentioned they should fit.

Palco/Dashtopper is the only one that makes it in Brown; however, it's 2x the price. I have the Herbs paints, so would only buy Dashtopper is it was the best fit & quality (aka worth it).

I'm thinking of replacing the one's on my 70 Coronet. Mine are not terrible, but do have a few scars. Think I'm going to wait until I hear which ones fit.

They said they make them in house, when I went to purchase them. They do have a sale going on, I believe it’s online only that’s every weekend. I don’t know if they would be open on Memorial Day.

They make them for my 69 Charger in House, for a 70 Charger, looks like they outsource them. I used their discount code which told me they buy them from another source.
