While replacing bulbs in my dash the light socket for the low oil pressure light was missing so I found one and replaced it. Now my oil light is on - all the time… I have a mechanical gage and run around 50 psi all the time. I’m thinking PO pulled the bulb rather than figure out why it was on..
Would a bad sending unit cause the light to be on?

The switch is normally closed. If you pull the wire off at the switch and the light goes out then yes you'll need a new switch.
But if the light stays on the wire is grounded somewhere else pretty unlikely.
