Older movies you watched lately.....?

The past few years we watch TV series on DVD almost every night. Two series completed last year were Green Acres and Hogan’s Heros – both from the 60’s.
Eddie Albert was very likeable and funny. I remember two movies where he was the exact opposite :
Far superior than the 2005 remake.
Hogans Heroes was a bit dated but John Banner as Sgt. Schultz & Werner Klemperer as Col Klink were hilarious ~ not so in Operation Eichmann.
Both excelled in their roles of true evil.

that's a great old flick, Paul Newman is great lead
lots of great actors
the scene with the lady getting wet washing her car (tease)
while the conns are on roadcrew duty, is great too
I do the same most Saturday nights! I don't watch the Shemps too much and none of the Joe Bessers or Curly Joes. Curly Howard was the heartbeat of the Stooges. The simplistic silliness of it, poking fun at high society, just make me laugh. And the sadistic look on Moe's face as he inflicts pain on the others is highly entertaining.
Just watched ‘the commandos’ with Lee Van Kleef. Lots of action, plot was complicated and slightly hard to follow. Sad ending.

Good movie. Very hard to find since it's not available for sale new or for streaming. I was able to buy a used DVD.
Steve McQueen marathon on TCM.
I had forgotten he was the star of "The Blob".
Host said he turned down a percentage of the gross for 3500 bucks!
Then Bullitt.
Never seen that from the very beginning.
Host said (and I've thought for a long time) that the chase scene in "The French Connection" is almost as good if not as good.
Also said the plot "doesn't make sense", but it does. They just don't spell it out for you.
Then "Papillon".
Never seen it.
Host said "The Great Escape" was like a walk in the park compared to "the brutality" of Papillon.
Total of six years in solitary confinement. Yikes.

Ships from the UK. I'm in the USA.
USA is DVD Region 1.
UK is DVD Region 2.
So, the DVD is not compatible with my Sony bluray player, which, is DVD Region 1.
I was also concerned about global shipping issues.
Finally, the sequel got poor reviews. So, I didn't want to own it. It is available for streaming, oddly enough. So, I may watch it anyway.

Sorry, I hadn't noticed the region. I usually don't pay attention, my computer has a multi region disc player.
What's it about?
I 'learnt' about that too recently....my player won't play bluray.....it's old lol.
