Does anybody know exactly what these oval head screws/bolts are. Size, thread, self tapper or machine screw? Did the come with emblem nuts on the back or speed nuts. If you know or have a survivor, please let me know and post a couple of pictures please.

If these are the screws that go from the exterior panel to secure trim parts with a nut inside the trunk area, I am guessing that they are machine screws and would take an acorn nut inside. A regular 'woodscrew' type thread would be more likely used in the likes of sill plate covers and kick panels etc.

As an example .....

Thread is likely going to be described as "12-24 thread" as an example ...meaning 12 -gauge and 24 threads per inch.

I was thrown initially by the thread opener as I was thinking of the weird-headed screws (similar shape to exterior door seal rubber clip heads) that fixed the exterior trim on the trunk lid of a '70 GTX - the heads are machined to a football shape to slide inside the groove of the trim, and a machine thread goes through the trunk lid, with a regular nut inside. Almost 3/16" gauge like the old screws we used as apprentices. :)
