Needing the dimensions of the stripe and placement for painting it on

would it not be easier to put the decal on after paint or do you prefer paint instead of decal?

Decal.

Just brain storming: why not buy a decal. Install it, immediately mask the edges with good painting tape, then pull off the decal. You will now have a perfectly masked outline that you can paint.

This obviously includes the cost of the decal, but it is probably a near foolproof way to get an accurate outline...

I didn't ask for opinions on paint or decal,just looking for the dimensions and placement. I have paint and clear and want it to match the painted roof.
